At the opening for this show a viewer came up to me and said, ‘The seven suitcases, that’s the seven ages of man, Right? A short time later another person suggested that they were the seven deadly sins, His friend disagreed and said that it since they were on the coast they obviously represented the seven seas, a short time later overheard another conversation where the painting was described as obviously being about the arrival of the seven waka. you can decide.
